Sew excited!

I love looking for new and exciting blogs - quilting, knitting, photography.....handmade love!

This is one that I found recently and I love the idea of a virtual quilting club.  They are starting a new group of projects and a book!!  They are having a giveaway on their blog right now so if you love to sew, hop on over and check them out!

 

So on a random note, we had a TON of snow last week!  I'm talking 18 inches or so - in OCTOBER!!

 

This was after Josh went out and shoveled about 4 times that day.  It was nice to be snowed in together though because Josh had last week off school for fall break.

Well, that's about all I can post for tonight.  I have another fun project to share but I want to keep it a secret until Rachel sees it tomorrow  ;)

The Clark family

Did another photoshoot this week  - this time for the Clarks  :)  It was the first time I met Madalyn and man is she a cutie!!

I did a little photoshoot today of my friend from work and her husband and son.  Anderson is 9 months old and just the most adorable thing.

 

 

 

Autumn Love

I am soooo happy that autumn is finally here!  The colder weather, grey skies, leaves changing (although that part happens way to fast for me), pumpkins, quilts, cuddles by the fireplace........I wish it was fall all year long!

Here are a few things that keep me smiling all day long

 

 

 

Although the candy corns and caramels seem to disappear quite quickly (*coughjamescough*)  :)

I also have been playing a lot with a new 'investment' I made last week.

 

This is the best sewing machine I've ever used!  It is truly a dream come true to be able to have one.  I can't wait to make some amazing things on this!

Speaking of things I've made, I finally finished this a few weeks ago and absolutely LOVE it!  

September.....

is flying by!  I can't believe it's almost October!  I am glad however that fall is finally here.  Or is it winter?  By the amount of snow I saw this week it could be.

So September was full of exciting things:

• Josh started track
• Jenna turned 8 weeks old 
• Rach had her 41st birthday (pics to follow) 
• Went to a nursing conference 
• Took a fun sewing class at Stash (pics to follow)
• Saw some aspens at their peak (pics to follow) 
• Just found out a very good friend of mine is adding to her family 
• And finally I am working on A LOT of new projects  ;)

Rach's 41st 

We all got up SUPER early (I'm talking being there at 6:30 am) so we could be first in line to this breakfast joint downtown.  It was totally worth it though  :)

Rach's birthday pancake - it was a cinnamon roll one that wasn't even on the menu but our waitress had it made anyways.  All 10 of us were lucky enough to taste a bite and man was it good!

This was such a pretty candy shop and the owner was such a delight to talk with.  I walked away with some candy corn and a cupcake - delish!

Class at Stash!  This place is awesome!!  The owner, Crystal, couldn't be any nicer and I love being able to support creative people living their dream  :)

I got Rach and I this class as part of her birthday present and it actually ended up just being the 2 of us in the class that night which was pretty neat.  It was like our own personal sewing party!

Great thrift find

So I was just out and about a few weeks ago and stopped in a couple of antique stores around town.  The first one I went to had this amazing find

for only $13!!!  It is HUGE - at least big enough for a twin size bed if not a full.  The fabrics are vintage and AMAZING!!  The only thing I don't particularly care for is the yarn knots it has so I might take out the yarn and replace it with some embroidery thread.  Not sure if I want to mess with that though and ruin the antique quality of it.

Found a new shop to visit!

 

So I was looking on craigslist for some Amy Butler fabric and came across an ad for a new store in Castle Rock called Stash.

Looks like I'll be making a run down there this week  :)  Will report back.

Randomness

SOOOO excited to start this class next month

 

There are a lot of great projects planned to keep me busy for a while.  I will be making a lot as gifts for Christmas this year.  I am going to try to give all handmade gifts  :)  Good thing I'm starting now.

So I was browsing Gap tonight and found some new items of clothing I would love to get

 

I can't wait for fall to get here!  I really want to get a pair of boots this year to wear with some fall skirts but am having trouble finding just the right pair.  Any suggestions??
