So I had this sock pattern since last year and I got maybe 2-3 inches done on the sock before I put it away. I decided a few days ago to take it back out and try to finish it this time.
This is how far I've gotten
For some silly reason I am scared of the heel part! HAHA! I will get over it though. Maybe practice with another bit of yarn first so I'm not ripping the whole thing apart.
I have also been trying to put together that playground days quilt but it's being a bit tricky with me as well
First of all I think I'm going to mix it up a bit so it's not so matchy matchy but when I try to sew them together they don't line up real well. Will have to play around with it and try to figure it out because all my fabric is already cut and well, all my fabric is already cut. :-P
On Sunday Trevor and I decided to hike Barr Trail. This is the trail that takes you to the top of Pikes Peak. It is a long windy switchback trail that goes straight up. Well, not as straight up as the incline which we did again last night.
Now that's straight up!
Barr Trail is a little nicer than that.
We had a good time and burned over 2,000 calories. Great way to spend a Sunday :)
Hi there everyone!! Sorry I haven't been on here much lately. Have had a lot of changes in my life in the last month. I moved to Colorado Springs, started a new job, and am trying to get oriented this new city. It's been wonderful!! I absolutely love it here. It feels so homey and comfortable. Best of all, my boyfriend lives here so it's been nice to not have the hour drive back and forth all the time now :)
I had a housewarming party this past Saturday
Rachel made this awesome banner for my front porch!! Isn't it awesome?!
I live in this CUTE little 1920's bungalow that I found on craigslist. I love it!! It has built in bookcases, the original clawfoot bath tub and surprisingly big rooms for a bungalow. I am only renting so my time with it will come to an end after a year but I still have a whole 11 months to enjoy it!
In here is an entire bedroom that has been turned into my studio to make LOTS of things!!
One of those things is a new quilt I started working on yesterday
It a quilt from the Modern Obsession 2 book called Playground Days. Its a big quilt with A LOT of little pieces. This one will take a while but will be so worth it when it's done. I'm using the Denise Schmidt fabric I got from JoAnn's for this one. 15 different prints. Can't wait to see how it turns out.
My other project I started cutting and piecing the other day was a quilt for Christmas. Not sure if I will keep this one or give it away yet.
The fabric I love and is from Sweetwater, a local Colorado company. I hope I can get the rest of it done by December LOL!
